Time for a change

Change can be difficult, but sometimes change brings new opportunities.  After 6 fun years creating vintage inspired stamps, we are moving on to some new projects with Pink Persimmon.  We'll no longer be producing clear stamps and will be offering you some great discounts on all of the inventory currently in stock. 

For the next few weeks, you'll have a chance to get our stamps at 30% off.  We'll continue to offer even deeper discounts until we have cleaned out the warehouse!   Discounts will be automatically applied at checkout (no coupons needed).  30% off is only applied to the STAMPS in our store.

So here's the scoop, we have some stamp sets that are packaged with our old logo and packaging style, (Did you notice that our logo changed last year?) and we can't sell these stamps to our wholesale distributor. Keeping two sets of inventory is driving us crazy!  So crazy that we decided to give YOU the WHOLESALE price!   Some of the sets are really limited in quantity (others have more than enough - yes, predicting inventory and sales is a tricky business).  But my inexperience is your gain!  : )

Using Copic Markers with the Sassy Girl Stamp Set

Kristii loves working with our new Sassy Girl stamp set.  She is perfect for all occasion cards and come with 3 different sentiments.  You might have your own "sassy" sentiment that you might want to include...  just sayin' this girl is open to all kinds of attitude. 

Kristii is a master with her Copic markers.  Here are the markers that she used to color in our beautiful girl: 
R81, R83, R85, Y17, Y32, E11, E33, E50, 100, 0

Not familiar with Copic Markers?  These are alcohol based dye ink markers that allow for beautiful blending of colors and allow the artist to incorporate shading and highlighting for a realistic look.  Lots of tutorials online and a quick google search of Copic Marker Tutorial will give you lots of options. 

If you look closely, Kristii did a base color on our Sassy Girl's dress and then added shading in with a slightly darker pink color along the edge and anywhere that a fold might occur.  Same process with the skin shading.  Because of the alcohol in these markers, the blending of the two colors makes a smooth color transition.   

One thing to remember when using Copics is the type of ink that you will use to stamp your image (the black or brown outline).  Tsukineko Memento or Brilliance Ink, Ranger Distress Inks, A Muse Dye, or Stewart Superior Palette Noire all are brands of ink that work well with Copic Markers. Be sure to allow the image to dry completely before starting the coloring process. 

Highly recommend that you do a few tutorials and get a little base knowledge of how Copics work before purchasing (they are a bit pricey).  But I promise you'll absolutely love coloring once you learn how! 

Bluebird Button stamp project

The Bluebird Button stamp set is based on a vintage button card.  Melisa did a little research on the origin of the button card and found some very interesting facts about what buttons were originally made from. 

This stamp is the latest in our button card series of ATC sized stamps.  If you enjoy this stamp, you will also like Baby Pearls, Mermaid Pearls, Men's Buttons, and Happy Girl. 

Melisa made this beautiful shadow box and added such beautiful embellishments to the stamp image.

This Girl has Style!

Please welcome the latest addition to the Pink Persimmon family:  Style Girl.  She is a sister to our very fun "Hello Vintage Girl" and the two of them make quite a scene on Girl's Night Out! 

Lindsay Weirich used our beautiful girl here in this card.  I love how she stamped the dress in a patterned paper and then added that on top of the original stamped figure.  So stylish! 

New Stamps! Vintage Button & Silk Card Stamps.

We just released these adorable little 3x4 size stamps.  These are based on vintage button cards, a silk mending card, and a cute little mini bingo card too.  We can think of lots of projects to use these stamps with, and hope you do too!

We are so excited to finally show you Pink Persimmon's latest release:  The Antiquated Collection by Lisa M. Pace. 

These stamps are now available in the Pink Persimmon online store.  We have had very creative designers working with the stamp sets.  Here are just a few designs, you can see a few more at our special Antiquated Collection Gallery!  We'll be sharing new project samples here on our blog all week.

We are so excited to finally announce our new stamp collection:

We have been working with Lisa Pace (www.lisapace.com), a very talented mixed-media and scrapbooking artist to create this new vintage inspired stamp collection.  For those of you who know Lisa, this will be  something that is true to her style.  She is just bursting at the seams with excitement to share these new stamps with her friends and fellow crafters.  Lisa hand selected her favorite images and then Judi crafted them into adorable stamp sets that will be a must-have for all you vintage-lovers out there!
